Windswept captures the way the trees are shaped by the wild Atlantic wind throughout the Connemara region. They can be seen everywhere, bowing in deference to the elements. The piece also shows the vastness of the landscape with green and plum mountains in the distance, orange heathland, water, rocks and grasses. A path can be seen traversing the landscape, leading up to the top of the mountains.
Created over three days with over 40 hours of accumulative firing, the piece mixes opaque and transparent glass, glass powder and glassline pen to create texture. It measures 31cm wide by 22cm tall and comes complete with stand.
