The little brothers to my larger Irish Cottage. Inspired by a real cottage on the Connemara coast, this piece captures the textures of the Wild Atlantic Way. The artwork features a traditional white-washed cottage set against the Atlantic Ocean. The foreground is detailed with textured glass representing golden gorse and the fiery orange of wild montbretia.
The cottage features a striking red door and windows. Beyond the aesthetic, Irish folklore suggests these red accents were used to ward off ghosts and evil spirits, protecting the home.
